It is not legitimate to demolish churches or confiscate them or take them as havens. Religious fascism and extremism in the name of distort Islam do not represent us and the Christian presence in the Arab region is a wealth as well as a necessity that has to be preserved and defended.
Sayed Mohamad Ali El Husseini, secretary-general of the Arab Islamic Council, visited His Beatitude Patriarch Al Rahi heading a delegation. The visit came to emphasize the depth of ties that unite us with His Beatitude Patriarch Al Rahi which are based on national principles that protect the interest of Lebanon and promote its unity and stability through consolidating the coexistence between all the components of the Lebanese society.
Sayed El Husseini conveyed to the Maronite Patriarch his denunciation and condemnation of the extremist acts which are resulting from distort religious fascism that do not represent us and do not reflect the spirit of tolerant Islam. Sayed El Husseini stressed that Christian presence in the Arab region is a wealth as well as a necessity that has to be preserved and defended.
