Male infertility - Symptoms and causes

General physical examination and medical history. This includes examining the genitals and asking questions about genetic conditions, chronic diseases, diseases, injuries, or surgeries that can affect fertility. Your doctor may also ask you questions about your sexual habits and sexual development during puberty.

Semen analysis. Semen samples can be obtained in several different ways. You can present a sample by masturbating and ejaculating in a special container in the doctor's office. Because of religious or cultural beliefs, some men prefer another method of collecting sperm. In such cases, sperm can be collected using a special condom during intercourse.

 

Sperm is then sent to the laboratory to measure the number of sperms present and look for any defects in the shape (morphology) and movement (motility) of the sperm. The laboratory will also examine the sperm for signs of problems such as infection
